Dr. Momi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in spine surgery. At CoastalSpine, Dr. Momi focuses 100 percent in the care of back and neck pain. Dr. Momi completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. A fellowship is the most advanced and specialized physician training available. Dr. Momi received his Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University, where he earned a place on the dean’s list every semester. Dr. Momi proceeded to earn his medical degree at Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed an internship in surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City and a residency in orthopedics at New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Momi is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the North American Spine Society. He has given lectures at New Jersey Medical School, the New Jersey State Orthopaedic Association’s Annual Meeting, New Jersey Orthopaedic Hospital and Mayo Clinic. Dr. Momi is involved in ongoing research related to limb lengthening and orthopedics of the limbs.

Mark Testaiuti, MD
Board-Certified, spine neurosurgeon
Dr. Testaiuti is a board-certified neurosurgeon at CoastalSpine who specializes in spine care and complex spine surgery. Dr. Testaiuti has served as Chief of the Division of Neurosurgery at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Camden in New Jersey. He was also an instructor and assistant professor of surgery there for five years. Since 1997, Dr. Testaiuti’s hospital appointments include Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Summit Surgical Center, Underwood Memorial Hospital and West Jersey Virtua Health Systems. After earning a degree in biology from State University of New York (SUNY) in Stony Brook, New York, Dr. Testaiuti received his medical degree at Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, where he received honors in anatomy and neurosurgery. Dr. Testaiuti proceeded to complete an internship in surgery and a residency in neurosurgery at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, New York, during which time he was nominated as chief resident. Dr. Testaiuti has contributed to the publication of many articles and book reviews. His memberships include the American Medical Association, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons and the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and is licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

 

Larry Deutsch, MD
Board-Certified, fellowship-trained spine surgeon
Dr. Deutsch is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in spine. Dr. Deutsch taught as an assistant professor at Cooper Hospital’s division of orthopedic surgery for ten years. He also acted as an adjunct instructor of orthopedic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University’s Jefferson Medical College, Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. Dr. Deutsch was commissioned as an orthopedic surgeon at Fort Benning and at Landstuhl Army Regional Medical Center in Germany. He went on special assignments in Moscow and in Iraq during Operation Desert Storm, during which he earned several medals and two bronze campaign stars. After earning a Bachelor of Science from the University of New York at Albany, Dr. Deutsch attended L’Universita Di Medicina in Modena, Italy. He subsequently studied at State University of New York’s Health Science Center in Syracuse, New York, where he earned his medical degree in 1985. Dr. Deutsch completed an internship in general surgery at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse and then received on-the-job training at Martin Army Hospital in Fort Benning, Georgia. He proceeded to become a resident and fellow in orthopedic surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and New York Orthopedic Hospital, as well as a clinical fellow in pediatric orthopedics. Dr. Deutsch has spoken at multiple conferences and given presentations on orthopedic surgery nationwide. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Orthopedic Trauma Association. He was appointed as a member of the Institutional Review Committee in 2001. Dr. Deutsch is licensed in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

 

Scott Jarmain, MD

As the Medical Director of CoastalSpine, Dr. Jarmain is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation, which focuses on nonsurgical care of back and neck problems. Within that specialty, Dr. Jarmain is fellowship-trained in spine, which provides proficiency in the interventional use of injections for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. Dr. Jarmain completed a spine fellowship at Johns Hopkins University Hospital in Baltimore. A fellowship is the most advanced and specialized physician training available. At CoastalSpine, he performs spinal injections and EMGs for diagnostic purposes to help patients recover from back and neck pain without surgery. Dr. Jarmain has provided medical care and support for a variety of athletes, including teams at Johns Hopkins University, Philadelphia University and the USA Golden Gloves boxing team. He has also served as a staff physician at the Baltimore Marathon and at several Special Olympics events. Dr. Jarmain received his Bachelor of Science at Boston College, where he was President of the Boston College Pre-Medical Club. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Jarmain completed his internship at Frankford Hospital and his residency at Temple University/Moss Rehab Hospitals in physical medicine and rehabilitation. Dr. Jarmain is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Pennsylvania Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Physiatric Association of Spine, Sports and Occupational Rehabilitation and the Association of Academic Physiatrists. He has contributed to the publication of several articles and given presentations at medical conferences nationwide. Away from the office, Dr. Jarmain enjoys golf, tennis, fiction, writing and spending time with his family.

 

Seth Scholl, DO
Board-Certified, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Dr. Scholl is a specialist in physical medicine and rehabilitation and deals solely with the nonsurgical treatment of neck and back pain. Dr. Scholl was born and raised in New York, where he studied at Binghamton University, graduating cum laude, with a Bachelor of Science in biology. He was then accepted into the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and began his medical training. After medical school, Dr. Scholl was one of four physicians chosen to spend an extra year teaching as a fellow through the anatomy department. He then completed his internship at Long Beach Medical Center in Long Beach, New York. During his internship, he wrote a computer-based medical book that was designed to diagnose and treat medical conditions using the Palm Pilot. He then moved to Philadelphia to begin his three-year residency at Temple University/Moss Rehab Hospitals in physical medicine and rehabilitation. U.S. News and World Report consistently names Moss Rehab Hospital as one of the top 20 rehabilitation hospitals in the country. At CoastalSpine, Dr. Scholl specializes in helping many patients find relief of back and neck pain symptoms through nonsurgical treatments. Dr. Scholl is the director of the electrodiagnostic laboratory at CoastalSpine. He is proficient in performing EMGs that are done to help diagnose a “pinched” nerve in the spine. He is also well-trained in trigger point injections, which can relieve muscle-related pain. Dr. Scholl maintains his affiliation with Temple University and has been granted the title of associate professor through the rehabilitation department. Dr. Scholl is active in teaching and in the mentoring of physical medicine residents. He is a member of the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Association of Physiatrists. Over the last few years, he has contributed to the publication of multiple articles. During his free time, Dr. Scholl enjoys sprint and Olympic distance triathlons, competitive running and hiking.
